Did you know you can drop off any electronic waste for recycling at the Jurien Bay CRC? We collect mobile phones, batteries, computers, monitors, printer cartridges and pretty much any other electronic goods. When we have a sufficient volume of e-waste it is sent to a recycling facility, keeping it out of landfill. There is a cost to us in transporting the e-waste to a recycling facility so we will ask for a gold coin donation when you drop off your items, to offset this cost.
In addition to e-waste, we are a collection point for razors, writing implements, beauty product packaging, coffee pods, roast and return coffee capsules and coffee bean bags , oral care products (toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes) and electric toothbrushes, dishwashing containers, air freshener containers, bread bag closures, contact lenses and contact lens packaging. Contact us for more details or click below.
Jurien Bay's local paper has been running for over 40 years. Every fortnight 600 copies are printed and distributed in Jurien Bay, Cervantes and Green Head. Head over to the Craytales web page for more information - www.craytales.net.au - or to read recent issues.
Did you know that Jurien Bay has a Community Garden? Located on the site of the Jurien Bay District High School, Community Garden Members grow a range of fruits, herbs and vegetables and share in the produce. Some plants are grown for the school's home economics department to use, and excess produce is brought to Crop Swap on Friday mornings at the CRC. Membership of the Community Garden is just $1 per year - contact the CRC for more information.
Please enjoy our ongoing Oral History Project. We hope to capture the personal stories that shaped our town.
